Women Like Us

Stand up comedians Mandy Nolan and Ellen Briggs join forces  in Women Like Us to deliver two hours of rapid fire, sharp, honest, sometimes self deprecating, somewhat irreverent stand up comedy for audiences who love their humour straight from the lip. Women Like Us is two hours of stand up comedy – an hour a piece. No gimmicks. Funny stories told by funny women. This isn’t your regular stand up comedy show. These are stories that you don’t generally hear centre stage.

They’re the complaints muttered at book club, laments shared over lattes in coffee shops, rants that get you banned from online forums, the silent screams you see in those cars passing you by each morning of angry women ferrying their kids to school. These are the self-deprecating and at times outrageous observations of two educated women who suddenly want to know, what happened to my life? Described as the thinking woman’s Bogan and the Bogan woman’s thinking woman, Women Like Us deliver a laugh every 30 seconds. Warm, expressive, relatable, insightful and sometimes downright unreasonable, Women Like Us  is  one review described it ‘a two tena pad show’.

Small town showgirls, there are few sacred cows that Briggs and Nolan shy away from milking, with seven children and thirty five years stage time between them, their 'failure to parent' is the focus of their material, along with the beauty industry, getting older, getting fatter, strange surgeries, weird TV shows, obsessions, frustrations, and at the end of the day, who unpacks the dishwasher.

These are untold laugh out loud women’s stories, smack bang centre stage.
